Hello fans of Greenpoint Food Market!
First, an important announcement: GFM is canceled THIS SATURDAY to make room for FEAST (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics), a public art dinner where folks vote on artist proposal whilst eating delicious food and the subsequent winner receives a bag of the donated cash paid upon entry. Please join us SATURDAY OCTOBER 10th for the next market day!
Second, we need LOADS AND LOADS of visitor and vendor support as well as suggestions to make the market a better place for you to sample, serve and support the local food community. Please take a moment to spread the word about GFM and invite all your friends to visit or participate. There’s also a facebook group we’d love for you to join.
Lastly, here’s a recap of last week’s market, we hope you’ll gratify your gastronomical curiosities and sign up to be a vendor next week!
Rugebites introduced themselves with four types of delicious spreads: butternut squash and fennel chutney, eggplant caviar, houmus, and baba ghanouj.
Token Confections graced us with two types of soft chewy caramels: chocolate caramel with roasted sea salt, and caramel with chili and peanuts. They were both DIVINE and we ate all the remaining samples while cleaning up.
We love the custom printed GFM bags Berry Street Bags has made for us, please buy one and show it off!
Keen-wah, the quinoa trail mix company returns with cranberry and blueberry snacks. Subtly sweet, crunchy and delicious!
La Bella Torte’s Sfogliatelle are flaky and soft with a smooth ricotta filling that is sure to make you melt.
Neighborhood favorite Cafe Grumpy has started roasting their own coffee and offered two blends at the market.
We love You Can’t Eat Bread?’s mini sample black and white cookies, they are just so darn cute.
