Second, thank you EVERYONE who came out to Oktoberfest this past Sunday at Transmitter Park. There were 1500 visitors hungry for beer and food and what a spectacle it was with lines going out the park, burlesque performances for you to google at, bratwurst and more from Hallo Berlin and awesome treats from Greenpoint Food Market! Yours truly spent 12 hours kneading and twisting to make 400 pretzels and we were truly blessed to be serving with Mary of Kill Devil Hill who made some killer pies and breads and Bing Means Pancakes who provided some delicious mustard, relish and jam sauces for the pretzels. Skimkim represented with kimchi butters, marinades and popcorn and we are all so grateful to have participated in the revelry!!

Thirdly, please join us tomorrow evening at Habana Outpost for an evening of food and presentations to benefit Learning Farm, a non-profit school and farm in Java, Indoesia. Learning Farm serves the community by providing non-formal education for local youths while practicing organic farming techniques. The fundraiser will benefit present talks and demonstrations from leading figures in the agricultural urban food movement including Rooftop Farms, Greenpoint Food Market vendors Brooklyn Brine and Brooklyn Honey, and yours truly will nervously chat about what the market has been all about. Be there!

THURSDAY

7:30pm

Habana Outpost

$25 suggested donation.

Lastly, the awesome band Pearl and the Beard recently stopped by the market and played us a few tunes. This is the result, a Will Smith Medley that is both hysterical and profound!

More updates to come!

  1. I’m so happy to hear you’ll be at the church next week! I was disappointed to find no market this past week, but I’m relieved to hear it was just a one-time thing. Was worried🙂
